Ashlie & Mike | Old Governor’s Mansion

Ashlie and Mike held their beautiful wedding at the Old Governor’s Mansion in Baton Rouge. There couldn’t have been a more perfect venue for our lovely southern bride. We may remember Ashlie and Mike’s story that was featured in their engagement blog. It’s hard to believe it’s been six months since their engagement session. Time flew and their long awaited day finally arrived.

The girls wore adorable matching robes until it was time to put on their gorgeous blush dresses. Ashlie’s wedding dress had a modern-vintage, timeless soft mermaid style with intricate beaded applique. After the girls all had their dresses on, they gathered for a prayer. It is always moving when the bridesmaids pray for the bride on her wedding day. You can feel their love for the bride in asking God to bless her and the groom as they embark on their new journey as husband and wife. The love at weddings always goes beyond the bride and groom. They are surrounded by the love of their family and friends who are cheering for them and rejoicing with them.

The time came for the ceremony. When Mike saw Ashlie coming down the aisle and his smile was the widest I’d ever seen. Ashlie’s father sweetly gave her a kiss on the cheek before giving her away. Ashlie and Mike joined hands as they joined together in marriage. When Ashlie said “I do,” Mike turned asked, “Everybody heard that?” We sure did!

Their reception featured the band Backlit Stereo, led by Mike’s best man Mike Nosacka. They had their first dance, followed by the father-daughter and mother-son dances. It never gets old watching parents dance with their son or daughter on their wedding day. Their eyes fill with tears as they dance, remembering how small they once were and how they used to carry them in their arms. It’s a bittersweet moment seeing how their baby has grown, but has found someone they share happiness in.

Congratulations Ashlie & Mike!
